What should I do if my car burns engine oil
Today, I want to explain to you what oil burning is. Theoretically speaking, when the engine is working, it is at least gasoline for no special reason, and the main function of oil is to lubricate parts. There is no connection between the two. But the fact is that almost any engine will burn oil.
The main reason is to lubricate the cylinder wall. When the engine is working, the engine oil will constantly throw against the cylinder wall. Because of the cylinder clearance, a small part of the engine oil will certainly burn off with the gasoline.
How to judge oil burning
We can judge whether there is oil burning by the oil level on the dipstick. Normally, the oil consumption does not exceed 0.5 liter every 1000 km, which is a normal phenomenon. We can also check whether the exhaust pipe emits blue smoke when accelerating rapidly.
Correct treatment of oil burning
At present, many turbocharged engines have a serious problem of burning oil. If there is no lack of power and high oil consumption, it is not a big problem if we do not deal with it for the time being. But what is more troublesome is that the oil level should be checked and added at least every one or two thousand kilometers. At the same time, we can try using oil with higher viscosity during maintenance.
If the engine oil consumption is relatively serious, for example, if the engine oil consumption is more than 1L per 1000 km, or if the car has insufficient power and high fuel consumption, the car owner needs to go back to the 4S store or the repair shop in time to check his car. If there is no special reason, the basic solution to oil burning is engine overhaul.
