In May 2018, six TIR transport pilot ports nationwide were launched. Among them, there are two pilot ports in Xinjiang, namely Khorgos Port and Irkeshtan Port.

According to the statistics of Khorgos Customs, since the first batch of TIR transport goods in Xinjiang left Khorgos Port on May 25, 2018, a total of 129 TIR international transport vehicles have left Khorgos, mainly to Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Poland and other countries and regions.
